A couple weeks ago, Brian and I had a chance to go up north for a few days. We stay at his family’s cottage in Indian River. It’s convenient to some surrounding up north locations, like Mackinac/Mackinaw, Petoskey, etc. We were up from Wednesday (June 14) night through Sunday (June 18) morning.

That Friday, we ventured over to Mackinac Island. This was my second visit (the first in July 2011).

I think it’s mandatory for me to visit butterfly houses. I love ’em. I believe the Island has two, but we visited the Original for a second time:

This one is my favorite:

The one missing about a quarter of his wings was perched on the flower missing about a quarter of its petals…

Around the forty minute mark, Brian definitely hit his limit (he was giving me the “let’s go” eyes around thirty) — but I easily could spend hours in a butterfly house!
